There's no arguing it away - cloud computing is becoming increasingly relevant. The demand for public clouds will more than double worldwide in the next five years, according to the forecast by T-Systems Alpine<\/a>. According to the digital services provider, more than ever companies need innovative cloud platforms that are tailored to their needs - platform- and vendor-independent and extremely secure. In recent months, T-Systems has further expanded its strategic cooperation with hyperscalers such as Microsoft, AWS and Google, enabling it to manage multi-cloud landscapes for customers. The IT service provider also offers data security for all cloud solutions. As part of the \"Cloud First Strategy<\/a> T-Systems wants to make a \"Swiss Cloud\" - based on its own public cloud, the Open Telekom Cloud (OTC) - available to its customers in Switzerland. \"We are seeing the world and long-established business models change rapidly as a result of the global Corona crisis, and we see that the appetite for cloud solutions among our customers has increased enormously. To meet the needs of our customers in Switzerland, we are building a 'Swiss Cloud' for 2021, which will bring all the benefits of an Open Telekom Cloud,\" said Thomas Reitze. He joined T-Systems Switzerland in May 2020 in the role of Vice President Commercial & Market Relations. As a member of the Management Board, Thomas Reitze is responsible for strategic customer and market relations at T-Systems in Switzerland. At the same time, in this role he represents the business of T-Systems Switzerland both internally and externally, the company writes.<\/p>\n

Expectations for 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pandemic was and is a driver of digital transformation. T-Systems Alpine not only expects increased demand for multi-cloud, SAP & security services in 2021. \"We also see demand for Edge Computing, Big Data & Data Analytics as well as Business Intelligence and IoT solutions. Companies should take advantage of these, look ahead and accelerate the digitalization of their business processes. At the same time, however, companies should also focus on security,\" says Reitze.<\/p>\n

Also more sustainability<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the recent media briefing, T-Systems Alpine also announced that it would be focusing more strongly on sustainability in the future. Measures have been taken in both countries to reduce the ecological footprint. These include the more energy-efficient operation of data centers and the switch to green electricity. The company is also pushing the development of products, supply chains and solutions that will help customers to be more sustainable.\u00a0<\/p>\n
