In addition to testing and certification services according to UL, the Frankfurt laboratory will now also test and certify lighting products according to IEC. The advantage: Within the framework of the IEC's multilateral IECEE Scheme, the results of the CBTL laboratories are mutually recognized by all participating nations.<\/p>\n

IEC standards from Frankfurt <\/strong><\/p>\n

Testing and certification to the following IEC standards is now available at UL's Frankfurt laboratory: IEC 60598-1; IEC 60598-2-1; IEC 60598-2-2; IEC 60598-2-3; IEC 60598-2-4; IEC 60598-2-5; IEC 62031; IEC 61347-1; IEC 61347-2-13; IEC 62384. For UL, this expansion of the capabilities of its Frankfurt Lighting Laboratory represents an important step in better serving lighting manufacturers throughout the DACH region and facilitating their access to markets worldwide.<\/p>\n

International certifications <\/strong><\/p>\n

With the expansion of its service spectrum at the Frankfurt location, UL is simplifying the certification processes for lighting products: For manufacturers from the DACH region, this significantly streamlines the processes required for entry into a wide range of global markets. In a highly competitive market environment, local companies benefit from greater process efficiency.<\/p>\n

The Frankfurt lab can now test and certify lighting products to UL standards (opening up access to the North American market) as well as IEC standards - resulting in a CB Test Report, which is the key requirement for obtaining various country-specific test marks around the world. Because products are now tested directly in the Frankfurt Lighting Laboratory, shipping to other UL laboratories is no longer necessary.<\/p>\n

In addition, local manufacturers benefit from a German-speaking team of UL experts who are now available to advise them throughout their certification journey.<\/p>\n
