The Code of Conduct describes proven procedures such as notice-and-notice and notice-and-takedown, which are also recognized in international regulations of Internet and hosting provider associations. Swico takes into account standards from the USA and the EU and ensures that Swiss principles such as freedom of contract and individual responsibility are upheld.<\/p>\n

The laws that apply to digital content depend on the country in which it is made available or the hosting service is provided. Swiss providers operating abroad must comply with local regulations - such as the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA). The CCH is based on the requirements of the DSA, whereby the specific implementation practice in each EU member state must be observed.<\/p>\n

Balanced protection for providers and users<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The CCH helps hosting providers to fulfill their role as intermediaries and defines clear processes for dealing with problematic content. \"The Code of Conduct Hosting is another example of how the industry acts responsibly,\" says Jon Fanzun, CEO of Swico. The CCH will enter into force on April 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

Since 2012, the Code of Conduct Hosting (CCH) has provided Swiss hosting providers with clear guidelines for dealing with potentially problematic or illegal content. Swico has adapted the CCH to the latest legal and technological developments.
