Ulrich Spiesshofer, CEO of ABB, says: \"As the world moves closer to the 5G era, we are delighted to expand our partnership with Ericsson. ABB's leadership in the digital industry combined with Ericsson's pioneering work in connectivity will open up new opportunities for customers to increase productivity and competitiveness by digitizing their businesses.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

B\u00f6rje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson, says: \"Ericsson and ABB already collaborate intensively on research for 5G and Industrial IoT technologies. With this MoU, we strengthen our partnership to accelerate the industrial ecosystem and realize the full potential of flexible automation by unlocking new business opportunities arising from the combination of 5G and Industry 4.0.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The two partners are already accelerating the introduction of a new generation of smart factory technologies. To this end, Ericsson is already deploying a smart automation system at its production facilities in Tallinn, Estonia. ABB offers a fully automated, flexible robotic cell solution for the final assembly of 5G radios.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Martin B\u00fcrki, Country Manager of Ericsson Switzerland, is looking forward to the expanded cooperation with ABB and predicts further Swiss collaborations in the field of Industry 4.0: \"We are very pleased that ABB, as a large Swiss industrial group, is working even more closely with us. This underlines the importance and contribution of our solutions for Industry 4.0 and will help Switzerland to remain a global innovation leader. <\/span><\/p>\n

The ABB Memorandum of Understanding reflects the efforts of the various industries to use our technologies and knowledge profitably for their business.
