(Image: simus systems)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There are numerous components in manufacturing companies.  Especially when only a section of a model is involved, designers have trouble keeping track. A new partial area analysis enables the search for freely definable fragments of CAD models. The highlight of the current version 8.0: The search for geometrically similar components now also takes into account freely definable partial areas of current CAD models.<\/p>\n<p>This makes it possible, for example, to find matching counterparts, components with the same drilling patterns or models with the same contours but different form elements. Thanks to a new algorithm developed by simus systems, the partial area search is extremely fast and intuitive for users. The developers have made the geometric similarity and duplicate search even more flexible and powerful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preview search<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Various combinable search options and the simple user interface of classmate FINDER allow search queries without special knowledge of the respective class structure. The results of a search with classmate FINDER are visible in clear lists and as 2D and 3D previews on the CAD screen. The effective and fast search saves employees valuable working time and costs at the same time, because duplicates are avoided.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on preference, the user can navigate in the graphically displayed class tree to the appropriate class or search for keywords. Further options consist of a feature-based search for single values or value ranges and a sketch mode.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The software integrates seamlessly into the standard CAD systems Autodesk Inventor, Catia, PTC Creo Parametric, Siemens PLM Software NX, Solid Edge or SolidWorks. The program can also be opened independently of CAD systems in any software that can interpret HTML, for example in a browser.<\/p>\n<p>If required, users can access the component information via smartphone and tablet during meetings or on the road. The program is part of the simus classmate product family from simus systems GmbH in Karlsruhe.
