Nel 2025 l'Ufficio europeo dei brevetti ha registrato un totale di 201.974 domande di brevetto, superando per la prima volta la soglia dei 200.000. Ci\u00f2 corrisponde a un aumento dell\u20191,4% rispetto all'anno precedente, con un incremento particolare delle domande provenienti da Paesi extraeuropei.<\/p>\n

Il Presidente dell'UEB Ant\u00f3nio Campinos vede in questo sviluppo una prova della forza innovativa dell'Europa e sottolinea l'importanza di settori strategici come l'intelligenza artificiale, i semiconduttori, la salute e le tecnologie quantistiche.<\/p>\n

Svizzera al settimo posto nel mondo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Con 9.914 domande di brevetto, la Svizzera si colloca al settimo posto a livello internazionale e al terzo in Europa, dopo Germania e Francia. Nonostante il leggero calo dello 0,5% rispetto al 2024, il numero di domande rimane a un livello molto alto,<\/p>\n

Il tasso pro capite rimane particolarmente notevole: con circa 1.096 domande di brevetto europeo per milione di abitanti, la Svizzera continua a guidare questa classifica.<\/p>\n

I progressi della tecnologia medica<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In termini di settori tecnologici, la tecnologia medica rimane il settore pi\u00f9 importante in Svizzera con 965 domande, anche se \u00e8 leggermente diminuita. Seguono al secondo posto altri beni di consumo, tecnologia di misurazione e macchinari elettrici, attrezzature ed energia.<\/p>\n

La crescita maggiore \u00e8 stata registrata da altre macchine speciali, con un aumento del 32,1%, e dai trasporti, con un aumento del 14,2%. Il portafoglio brevetti svizzero continua quindi a essere ampio e solido in diversi settori.<\/p>\n

Zurigo rimane un centro di innovazione<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A livello cantonale, Zurigo \u00e8 in testa alla classifica svizzera con 1.362 domande di brevetto e si colloca al 13\u00b0 posto tra le regioni europee. Anche Vaud e Zugo sono tra le localit\u00e0 pi\u00f9 innovative e tra le regioni con il maggior numero di domande in Europa.<\/p>\n

Insieme a Basilea Citt\u00e0 e Ginevra, i cinque cantoni principali rappresentano pi\u00f9 della met\u00e0 di tutte le domande di brevetto svizzere. Ci\u00f2 sottolinea la forte concentrazione dell'attivit\u00e0 di innovazione in pochi cluster ad alta intensit\u00e0 di ricerca.<\/p>\n

Le aziende svizzere tra i primi candidati<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hoffmann-La Roche rimane il primo richiedente svizzero con 681 domande di brevetto, seguito da Philip Morris International con 680 e ABB con 463 domande. Tutti e tre sono tra i 50 richiedenti pi\u00f9 attivi presso l'EPO.<\/p>\n

Anche le universit\u00e0 svolgono un ruolo importante: l'EPFL, il Politecnico di Zurigo e l'Universit\u00e0 di Zurigo saranno tra le principali istituzioni europee per le domande di brevetto nel 2025.<\/p>\n
